the american Donald Cerrone He is one of the most charismatic athletes in the history of Ultimate. “Donald showed up, but ‘Cowboy’ wasn’t there. The wrong guy showed up. He couldn't move on, he couldn't get excited, he didn't want to be there. The biggest struggle, all the attention, my time to shine, but I didn't want to be there. It was crazy. I do not know why. I don’t know how to change that, but it sucks,” Cerrone said in an interview with ‘ESPN’.
In the fight against Conor, the American ended up being the athlete chosen to 'welcome' the Irishman on his return to the Octagon. The ‘Notório’ hadn’t performed since October 2018 and ended up returning to the UFC spotlight after easily beating Donald in the welterweight division (up to 77kg.).
Just over three months after the setback, Cerrone already has a new commitment to Ultimate. The athlete will be present at the return of Ultimate activities, on May 9, after a stoppage due to the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).
For his new presentation, Cerrone will have the duty to exchange forces against another great icon of the organization. In front of him, the athlete will have Anthony Pettis, against whom he fought in January 2013, but ended up defeated by knockout.
Against 'Showtime', 'Cowboy' will reach the impressive mark of 52 commitments in MMA. With great experience in the sport, Cerrone is looking to rediscover the good phase of his career, as he has come from three consecutive defeats in the UFC.
