The Brazilian Philip Lins is close to realizing his dream of debuting in Ultimate. In his first commitment for the organization, the Potiguar will face Andrei Arlovski, former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg.). The clash will take place in Jacksonville, Florida (USA0), on May 13th. The information was released by 'Combate'.

The scenario may not be what Lins dreams of, as his duel will probably take place behind closed doors due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Philipe, however, will have in his favor the chance to face an athlete who, despite not having the best moment in his career, is a big name in the division.

The confrontation between athletes, however, is nothing new for Ultimate. The organization had confirmed the clash for May 2, however, the card ended up being canceled due to the global health crisis.

With extensive experience within MMA, Arlovski enjoyed his peak in the UFC in 2005, when he beat Tim Sylvia and became the division's new champion. Andrei's reign ended the following year, when, after two title defenses, he ended up beaten by Sylvia himself in a rematch.

At 34 years old, Lins arrives at the UFC with a record of 17 appearances as a professional in MMA. The Brazilian is on a four-fight win streak and has worked for organizations like Bellator and PFL. Philipe, today, has 14 triumphs and four setbacks.

With more 'running' in the sport, Arlovski is heading towards his 50th fight in his career. At 41 years old, the fighter has suffered six defeats in his last 10 appearances.
