“It will end this way. Empty arena and, if it's at the UFC Apex (Las Vegas), I think the Octagon is smaller. It's like the 'cage' of (The) Ultimate Fighter (TUF), so it's another fight. It's a smaller space than pay-per-view fights. But, yes, I'm going to face this guy (Miocic) in an empty arena. I want to face him,” said the American.

Aware of the difficulties encountered in promoting an event during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), Cormier only regrets the possibility of not having his family present in his 'final act'. The fighter, however, claims he didn't know how everything would happen.

“I don’t know how it would work with my family. That would be the only thing I would like (the presence of relatives). I wanted my wife and children to participate with me, but I don't know if it will be possible to do it that way”, said DC.

Daniel has already confirmed in some interviews that, win or lose, the fight against Stipe will be his farewell to the sport. Although UFC president Dana White says he would like to see the former champion perform a few more times, Cormier remains adamant about the decision.
