The company, however, guaranteed that its athletes will continue to be supported and will receive a monthly salary so that they can cover their personal expenses.

“Throughout the remainder of 2020, the PFL will support our fighters with a monthly cash grant to help provide some relief during these challenging times. Additionally, for sports fans, who we know are looking for compelling content, the PFL will provide new original programming across the ESPN and PFL platforms.

The company's management justified the reason for this action. According to the statement, the attitude aims to maintain the integrity of its employees, minimizing as much as possible any possibility of infection from the disease that has claimed thousands of lives around the world.

“PFL’s mission is to evolve and grow MMA. (…) PFL has always been focused on providing the best made-for-TV MMA product and we will continue to provide the most innovative fighting experience in the future. Fans can also expect the PFL to elevate our roster with new signings of big-name fighters like Rory McDonald (ex-UFC and Bellator).

With the announcement, the expectation is that the organization will resume its activities in March of next year, which is the beginning of spring.
