The defeat suffered by submission to Charles of the Bronx last Saturday (14), at UFC Brasilia, may have been providential so that Kevin Lee take drastic action in your career. Shaken by not being able to reach the desired level of competitiveness, the lightweight (up to 70,3kg.) stated that he must interrupt his career for a while so that he can get his head straight and be able to get back on track. The statement was made in a conversation with the press after the show.

“It'll probably be a while before you guys see me again. I need to evaluate some things. I thought my camp (training period) was great. My coaches told me all the right things to do, and I dropped out. It's all my fault in this fight. Maybe it will take a few years (to come back). It was a quick fight. I thought the fight was still starting”, declared the combatant.
Kevin even took the opportunity to apologize for not having made his weight the day before the duel. According to the athlete, his attitude was unprofessional and ended up interfering with the end of the preparation.
“It was very unprofessional on my part. I could have handled this in a much better way. Coming to Brazil not necessarily with little notice, but perhaps I should have asked for more time to prepare for this fight. Honestly, it was just time. I was unprepared for this. I can only apologize and blame myself”, Finished.
The setback for Do Bronx confirmed the bad phase in Lee's career, who now has three defeats in his last five appearances. The North American even attempted a recovery in his record, when he defeated Gregor Gillespie with a devastating knockout in the UFC 244, in November. The good impression, however, ended up being demystified by Charles.
