The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to have consequences in the world of MMA. After Leon Edwars' public demonstration stating that he does not intend to compete in the fight against Tyron woodley in the main fight of UFC London, which was scheduled to take place in England, this Saturday (21), due to the pandemic, the controversial Colby covington offered to replace the Englishman. The statement was made on his 'Twitter' account.

“They are talking on the streets that Leon edwards is outside (of UFC London). Ultimate and America needs a hero. Who wants to see an American hero put on the cape and kick ass? Tyron woodley live on 'ESPN' next week for your entertainment and my personal pleasure,” the loudmouth wrote.
Covington's statement took many people by surprise, as, at first, there was no prediction as to when the American would return to the octagon after the defeat he suffered against Kamaru Usman, in December, in the fight for the welterweight title (up to 77kg.).
Upon learning of Colby's challenge, Woodley wasted no time and accepted the confrontation against the controversial athlete. On his Instagram account, the North American discussed the clash against his compatriot.
“I'm ready to fight. I'm trained to kill. This guy is a joke. Few options. I will keep you informed. I’m going to fight on Saturday,” said Tyron.
In addition to Covington, the Brazilian Gilbert Durinho it was another one that offered to replace Edwards in this weekend's clash. On his social networks, the Niteroi native said he could perform, even though he fought last weekend, on the Brasília card, when he defeated Demian Maia.
So far, Ultimate has not confirmed whether Leon is, in fact, off this weekend's card. In this way, the fight continues until further notice.
