It won't be this time that fans of the former bantamweight champion (up to 62,1kg.), cody garbrandt will follow the American's return to the octagon. Without acting since the tough defeat suffered by Peter Munhoz, at the beginning of 2019, the athlete is out of the confrontation against Raphael Assunção, which would take place on March 28, at ufc columbus, in the United States, due to kidney problems. The athlete spent the last few days hospitalized. The information was released by 'ESPN' reporter, Brett Okamoto.

"cody garbrandt is out of your fight against Raphael Assunção on March 28 due to kidney problems that had hospitalized him for the past five days. He is leaving New Jersey today and traveling to Cleveland to see a specialist,” the journalist wrote.
The fight against the Brazilian would represent another opportunity for Garbrandt to regain the good form that gave him worldwide fame within MMA. Known for his aggressive and laid-back style, the athlete became champion in December 2016, after shocking the world and defeating the then belt holder, Dominick Cruz, in a true spectacle.
The North American's recent record, however, is not encouraging. The athlete was defeated in his last three commitments and remains in a complicated situation within the organization.
Against Cody, Assunção would also have the chance to recover within the division. The Brazilian, who currently occupies fifth place in the category ranking (one behind Garbrandt), has not won since the triumph over Rob font, in July 2018. After the victory, the Pernambuco native was beaten in the other two commitments.
The company has not yet confirmed whether Raphael will be kept on the card or relocated to another event in the future.
