The Brazilian Alex Cowboy was one of the athletes with one of the toughest commitments in the UFC 248, held last Saturday (7), in Las Vegas (USA). Coming off three consecutive defeats, the welterweight needed to win Max griffin so as not to run the risk of being dismissed by the organization. After achieving victory, the fighter from Três Rios (RJ) stated, in an interview with 'Ag.Fight', that he feared defeat when the result went to the judges.

“Yes (I feared for victory). The first round was his (Griffin), the second was mine and the third I won narrowly. But those who have faith, heart and believe in potential, get where they want. I was more aggressive than him (in the third round), but he came out on top in the end. Then I thought: 'I just can't let him attack me, or do much of anything, otherwise he could turn the game around,'” said Cowboy.

With the new triumph, the Brazilian now breathes easier and can resume his trajectory towards the top of the division, which is currently dominated by Kamaru Usman.
