This Saturday (7), at UFC 248, Israel adesanya will make his first belt defense in the meeting with Yoel romero. Considered by many the biggest challenge for the champion, Paulo borrachinha, who is recovering from injury, confirmed that he will be in the front row to watch the title fight. In an interview with 'MMA Fighting', the Minas Gerais native revealed his interest in seeing the Nigerian's performance against the Cuban.

“I will be there to see if Adesanya can beat Romero, like I did. Everyone wants to see this, whether he can win or not. I believe Adesanya feels he has to prove he can beat Romero too, so I will be watching,” stated the Brazilian.
Borrachinha qualified to fight for the title after beating Yoel himself in a true battle held at UFC 241, in August last year. Israel confirmed itself as champion after defeating Robert whittaker in October, in a valid dispute for the unification of the champion position.
After the Nigerian secured the number one spot, he and the Brazilian began to tease each other on social media, suggesting a possible fight in the future. A biceps injury, however, postponed the Minas Gerais native's plans to share the octagon with his rival.
Adesanya did not want to wait for Paulo, who stated that he would be ready to return to action in April, and challenged Romero, coming off two defeats, to a fight, which generated some controversy in the MMA world.
Isarel stated that the desire to face Yoel is due to the fact that he wants to test himself against the best athletes in the organization and the Cuban is one of the most feared athletes among the middleweights.
Surely, if Adesanya wins this weekend, Borrachinha will make a new official challenge to the champion.
