UFC tried to call Glover Teixeira, but Shogun reportedly denied the fight

The Brazilian Thiago Silva is out of the fight against Mauricio Shogun at UFC 149, an event that takes place on July 21, in Calgary, Canada. During training, the ATT fighter suffered an injury and is out of action. To replace him, the show's organizers tried to recruit another Tupiniquim athlete: Glover Teixeira

After beating Kyle Kingsbury, last Saturday (26), in his UFC debut, Glover said that the dream fight would be against Mauricio Shogun ou Rampage. And the  Ultimate tried to make his wish come true, but at first Shogun denied changing opponents.

“We asked Glover if he would accept this fight, but Shogun's people are refusing this fight. They don’t want anything to do with Glover,” said the president, in an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie.

With Shogun's refusal, the organization tries to provide a new opponent for Shogun, who seeks to take a new path to the belt, after losing to a real battle against Dan Henderson at UFC 140.
