Undefeated in MMA, Juliana Velasquez had another great performance in Bellator's circular cage and reached her fifth consecutive victory in the American organization. Against her compatriot Bruna Ellen, the Team Nogueira athlete had a great performance and dominated the five rounds to emerge with victory at Bellator 236, which was held on December 21st in Hawaii. With the triumph, the Judo black belt, who reached her tenth victory in MMA, hopes to be the next to challenge for the Bellator flyweight belt.

“I really liked my performance, but I actually like knocking out. I went for it. In the first round I managed to score a knockdown and I believed I would finish the fight there. Anyway, I think I had another great performance, dominating the three rounds, and I feel ready for the title fight. After the fight I asked for this title fight, and I hope I'm next. I know they signed ex-UFC Liz Carmouche, but it wouldn't be fair to me if they gave her that chance. I really believe that I will be the next challenger”, said Velasquez.
Undefeated champion Ilima-Lei MacFarlane fought the same night and dominated Kate Jackson for five rounds to retain her title. Juliana, who has been studying MacFarlene's game for some time, had the opportunity to watch the fight live and believes that she has the necessary tools to take the belt from the American.
“I watched the fight, and her fighting style is to put her opponent on her back. I've been studying her game since she fought Veta Arteaga, because I believed she would be the next challenger. I think I have a good game to keep her away, and I really believe in my hands to beat her”, she concluded.
