Even with this statement, the Brazilian maintains the attitude of respecting his rival outside the Octagon. For Deiveson, Joseph is a great athlete and deserves extra attention for the show that will take place at the beginning of next year.

“Benavidez is a phenomenon. I watched his fights even before I debuted in the UFC (2017). So, it's an honor for me to face someone like him. I can't underestimate him. He is very tough”, said the man from Pará.

Although he received the news that Cejudo would no longer defend the flyweight title, the Brazilian stated that he already imagined that this situation could happen at some point. According to the man from Pará, the North American could find it difficult to go through the weight cutting process again, in addition to having, according to the Brazilian, gained weight after undergoing surgery to correct a shoulder injury.

In recent weeks, Henry had even stated that he would fight in the category that gave him the best financial return. With that in mind, the athlete showed more interest in appearing in the bantamweight division, where he also holds a title. Recently, 'Triplo C' has been exchanging barbs with José Aldo, which debuted, on the 14th, in the group. A clash between the two is being considered by the Ultimate board and could be confirmed soon.

The clash between Figueiredo and Benavidez will represent the meeting between two of the most qualified flyweights currently in Ultimate. The North American comes from three consecutive victories, while the Pará native has two victories in three appearances in 2019.
