The Brazilian Priscila Pedrita received a mild punishment after being caught in an anti-doping test carried out on the eve of the UFC Sao Paulo, which took place in November. At the time, a prohibited amount of diuretic was found in the athlete's analysis and, after going through trial, a sentence of four months away from the Octagon was imposed. The athlete chose not to file an appeal and could be seen in action at the beginning of 2020.

After the accusation in the doping case, the Brazilian defended herself by presenting the justification that she had ingested a medicine (hydrochlorothiazide) offered by her own hand in order to stop a high blood pressure problem. At the time, the flyweight (up to 56,7kg.) who was in the preparation period for the fight against Ariane Lipski, in UFC Sao Paulo, confirmed that, due to her discomfort, she did not think she could be caught by USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency).

The doping accusation only increased the bad moment Priscila was going through, at least in the professional field. With his debut in Ultimate in February last year, when he faced the great challenge of facing Valentina Shevchenko, current division champion. Even though she didn't pose any danger to the Kyrgyzstani, Pedrita made a good first impression by showing great resistance by absorbing blows and fighting back, by withstanding the pressure of facing a great opponent.

After the clash against Shevchenko, Pedrita's decline ended up being evident in 2019. The Rio native made two appearances, one in March and the other in May. The athlete was defeated on both occasions and would go into the confrontation against Lipiski with the obligation to win and maintain her contract with Ultimate.

The Rio native arrived at the UFC undefeated, with eight fights in her professional career. In 2020, the fighter will try to prove that she can turn things around and stand out within the organization.
