The Brazilian Amanda nunes showed competence to maintain the bantamweight title in UFC 245, which took place this Saturday (14), in Las Vegas (USA). In dispute with Germain de Randamie, the Bahian woman strictly followed the strategy outlined by her team, dominated her rival on the ground and defeated the Dutchwoman in a unanimous decision by the judges (49-44, 49-45, 49-46).

With a real show in the first round, Amanda seemed like she would have no difficulty in settling the bill. However, Germaine showed that she was not just passing through on the most anticipated card of the year. The Dutch woman even scared Nunes with some hard standing strikes in the second round, which caused the Bahian to take the fight to the ground most of the time.

With the victory, Amanda equaled the record of five belt defenses, which belongs to Ronda Rousey (first Ultimate champion).

The fight

The duel started with Amanda throwing a right bomb in the opening seconds. The Dutchwoman immediately retreated and Nunes began a true nightmare against the challenger. Putting pressure on her opponent, the 'Lioness' found no difficulty in taking her opponent down and began hitting Germaine from top to bottom. Visibly superior, Amanda struck with ease, while Randamie remained closed trying to avoid the knockout. After almost five minutes of suffocation, the Bahian woman risked a submission, but there was no more time.

In the second round, Germaine seemed to try to recover the loss. The Dutch woman started to walk towards the Brazilian, who was acting with her back to the fence. At a disadvantage, Nunes took the fight to the ground again and started hitting her rival again. With no action on the ground, the referee asked for the fight to return to its feet. Standing up, the Brazilian was choked again by Germaine and ended up suffering a hard blow to the head. Once again at a loss, the 'Leoa' once again took down her opponent. On top, the Pojucana risked a few blows but the timer ran to zero.

The athletes returned to combat, exchanging blows in the center of the octagon. With a new strategy, Amanda took the fight to the ground in the opening minute and started applying elbows from top to bottom right at the beginning of the stage. While the Brazilian tried to attack, the Dutch defended herself as best she could. The Pojucana began alternating between blows to Randamie's waist and head. From below, Germaine showed danger in pedaling from the bottom up. Some even scared the Brazilian. In the final seconds, the Dutchwoman tried to get up, but was then taken to the ground again.

In the fourth round, Germaine got scared with a right hand bomb, which went by empty. Amanda risked a low kick and soon returned to her strategy and took down her rival. On the ground, the Dutchwoman tried to stop Nunes' actions so that the referee interrupted the duel and requested that the battle be fought again standing up. Amanda tried to throw elbows, while Randamie defended herself. The Dutchwoman appeared fragile on the ground and insistently sought to tie up the duel on the ground. After three minutes, the Dutchwoman almost surprised the Brazilian with an armbar attempt. The 'Lioness', however, used her jiu-jitsu to get out of the situation. After Germaine's attack, Amanda applied a takedown again. In the final minute, the athletes' momentum was no longer the same and the fight ended up becoming cold.

For the last round, the Dutchwoman needed to recover from the previously lost rounds. The challenger went for it, but ended up giving the Brazilian another takedown. On the ground, Nunes followed the plan of attacking her rival from top to bottom and continued scoring. The duel remained completely controlled by Pojucana.
