Situations involving domestic violence happen every day around the world. This time, the case happened to an MMA professional. Athlete Cindy Dandois accused her ex-boyfriend of attacking her after not agreeing to end the relationship. According to the Belgian, the man arrived at her house and surprised her with a blow, which fractured her nose. Dandois stated that she was taken by surprise and was unable to defend herself from the attack. In an interview with the website 'HLN' the combatant spoke about the crime.

“I was not prepared for the attack. Before I could react, I was hit with a slap in the face. My nose is broken and out of place. There is also a deep cut, which required seven stitches to close. It will leave me a scar for life. Hopefully, I will be able to have my nose straightened. I should have taken the threats seriously from the beginning, but I always thought things would calm down”, declared the fighter.
Even with the cowardly act of her ex-partner, who is also a fighter, Cindy states that she would not like to see the man behind bars, but said she would like him to bear the medical expenses for the procedures she will undergo.
“I would like him to pay the medical expenses. I don't need to send him to prison. We are all human and we make mistakes. I hope he sees this, pays for what he did and moves on with his life. I want you to leave me alone, of course. At least don't belittle me. I'm not a pathetic victim who's going to cry in the corners. It's hard, but I'm still here. This could have ended differently”, lamented Dandois.
At 35 years old, Cindy has 20 fights as a professional in MMA. The Belgian comes from three consecutive victories and even played in Ultimate on one occasion, in 2017, when she was defeated by Alexis Davis.
