The announcement that multi-time boxing champion Floyd Mayweather will come out of retirement and return to fighting surprised many people, including the athlete's father. Floyd, who named his son after him, said that, like many, he was unaware of the boxing legend's decision. The father, however, said he does not approve of the situation, if the fighter chooses to venture into MMA. In an interview with 'Fight Hub TV' you spoke about the case.

Mayweather, however, was not happy with the possibility of his son venturing into MMA, as the news about his return to martial arts also came from Dana White, president of the UFC. For Floyd, the case would not be a good idea for the multi-time boxing champion.

“I hope the return is not in MMA”, said the father, who also stated that he had a conversation with the Ultimate boss, if negotiations are for a clash in mixed martial arts. “I don't think he (Mayweather's son) would accept it, because I would go there and beat up Dana White! I would definitely do that. I would beat him up,” he revealed.

Although the father's concern is plausible, there has still been no confirmation on how the boxing legend will return to action. Everything that is known was given from two publications by Mayweather on social media, in which the athlete stated that he would return in 2020.

Finally, the father stated that, if the negotiations lead to his son appearing in MMA, he will, in fact, try to interfere so that it doesn't happen.

“As much as Floyd is a grown man, I will be the oldest and I will put an end to this idea, for sure”, he concluded.

Floyd, over the years, has built a solid career in boxing. Starting in 1996, the fighter had 50 fights and never knew what it was like to lose in the sport. The athlete holds the main titles in the sport and is considered one of the best fighters of all time.

Contact with the UFC suggests that the athlete could reissue something in the style of the show held in 2017, when the fighter took to the ring together with Conor McGregor, at the time featherweight and lightweight champion, and both performed an exhibition fight in the 'noble art'. On that occasion, Floyd asserted his favoritism and beat the Irishman by knockout in the 10th round.
