“Dana White and I are working together again to bring the world another spectacular event in 2020,” he wrote.
If negotiations with White are confirmed, this will be the second time that the champion has worked with Ultimate. In 2017, the athlete, together with the company, was able to promote a real show, when they confirmed the confrontation between one of the biggest boxing stars of all time and Conor McGregor, who, at the time, held the UFC featherweight and lightweight titles.
At the time, the event took place in Las Vegas (USA) and ended with the Irishman's defeat by knockout in the 10th round. The fight was watched by people from all over the world and broke audience records, resulting in a purse of more than US$100 million (around R$400 million for North Americans).
There is still no information about the type of business handled between White and Floyd. In the past, the boxing champion signaled the possibility of making an appearance in MMA, however, this did not come to fruition.
Below, the name of Conor McGregor can, at the moment, be ruled out as a possible opponent for Mayweather. However, currently, the UFC has athletes who can face the North American in a boxing or MMA duel.
In his career as a professional boxer, Mayweather appeared on 51 occasions, winning on all of them.
