Even though released by Ultimate and signing a financially favorable contract with Bellator, Chris Cyborg seems not to have swallowed his defeat to Amanda nunes in December last year, at UFC 232. The setback for her compatriot resulted in the loss of her featherweight title (up to 65,7kg) and the breaking of a winning streak that lasted 10 fights. In an interview with 'TMZ', the Curitiba native suggested a meeting between the champions of the two competing companies, for the unification of the featherweight belt. The plan, according to the Brazilian, has already been discussed with her current boss, Scott Coker.

“Before signing with Bellator, the first thing I asked Scott (Coker) was about the possibility of facing her (one in Bellator and one in Ultimate. Something similar to what he does with Rizin, with his champions fighting in Japan,” said Cris.

According to Cyborg, the 'exchange' would be with the intention of carrying out the long-awaited rematch against Nunes. The non-occurrence of the confrontation was one of the pivots for the Curitiba native's contract with the UFC not to be renewed. At the time, the Brazilian accused President Dana White of having lied when he said that the athlete denied the fight at the first opportunity.

Cyborg, who never had a friendly relationship with the Ultimate leader, then gave interviews and used social media to try to clarify that what the boss said was not consistent with the truth. According to Cris, the rematch was requested moments after being beaten by the Bahian, back in December of last year.

Now in a 'new home', Cyborg showed that his interest in facing Nunes remains alive and intact. According to her, the duel could be scheduled in a contract for just one performance between the two, in which the winner would have two belts (if both are champions) in their respective organizations.

“It would be a one-fight contract: Chris Cyborg x Amanda nunes. I hope this fight happens with her, as the UFC champion, and with me as the Bellator champion. Scott said it is possible to do this. So Dana White just has to call Scott and make it happen. I think everyone would like to watch this rematch”, concluded the Brazilian.

The Curitiba native made her contract with Bellator official in September. Shortly after confirmation, the company president assured that the Brazilian would fight for the belt in her first appointment. Cris' debut was scheduled for January 25th, when she will try for the current champion's belt, julia budd, in California (USA).
