Jon Jones confirms interest in facing Dominick Reyes: 'He'll be the next to lose'

Light heavyweight champion says he met with coaches and preferred undefeated athlete to Corey Anderson

After recently complaining about the lack of talent in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg), the champion, Jon Jones, seems to have recovered his spirit. The athlete revealed that he intends to face the promising Dominick reyes your next career challenge. The statement was made on his official Twitter account this Thursday afternoon (7).

“I just got out of a meeting with my coaches. We were studying the careers of Dominick reyes e Corey anderson. We've decided that Dominick is definitely the most dangerous athlete. He’ll be the next one to lose,” Jones wrote.

Considered by many to be the best MMA fighter of all time, Jon Jones has, in fact, found it difficult to carry out confrontations that could be considered true challenges. Among the top five in the category, the North American did not win just two; precisely Reyes and Anderson.

Dominick has, throughout his fights, built a solid career since he debuted as a professional in the sport. To date, the fighter has fought 12 battles without being defeated on any occasion.

In his last appointment, the athlete was not aware of the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg), Chris Weidman and delivered a devastating knockout to his rival less than two minutes into the contest.

Corey is also going through a good phase in his career. The North American, who had three consecutive victories in the organization, had his name mentioned after his last performance, when he punished the Brazilian Johnny Walker, one of the UFC's biggest recent revelations, last Saturday (2), at UFC 244.

After choosing Reyes over Anderson, 'Bones' tried to provoke the 'discarded'.

“Corey will only act when I tell him to”, he published.

Jones last acted in July, when he had the biggest fight of his career, facing Thiago Marreta, in the main fight of the UFC 239, in Las Vegas. On that occasion, Bones emerged victorious in a split decision from the judges.

With each performance, Jon has established himself as one of the greatest athletes in the sport. In 27 appearances, the champion emerged victorious in 25, losing one (disqualification) and having one fight without result.
