the carioca Priscila Pedrita was surprised after being caught taking an anti-doping test before the UFC Sao Paulo, which takes place on November 16th. The Brazilian's tests revealed prohibited substances (diuretics), which resulted in the athlete's withdrawal from the event. Pedrita would face compatriot Ariane Lipski, who, now, according to 'MMA Fighting', will exchange forces with Veronica macedo. The news was released by 'Tatame'.

The São Paulo card would be a decisive fight in Priscila's career. The fighter, who signed her professional contract with Ultimate in February last year, performed on three occasions for the company and did not achieve any victory.

In her last performance, the Rio native ended up defeated by Luan Carolina in the unanimous decision of the judges in a fight valid for the UFC 237in May.

In an interview with 'MMA Fighting', Pedrita justified the failure by taking a medication to control blood pressure. According to the athlete, 'Hydrochlorothiazide' was given by her mother, after the fighter complained of feeling unwell.

“When they told me the exam date, I started thinking how that would be possible; Then, I remembered. I called my mother and asked what medicine she had given me, and she said it was “Hydrochlorothiazide”, a diuretic that she uses. She started crying, feeling guilty, but I said it wasn't her fault, that I'm the athlete and I should worry about it. I hope that USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) understands the despair of a mother seeing her daughter sick”, said the combatant.

The woman from Rio still insisted that the ingestion of the prohibited content was done accidentally. The fighter stated that, because she felt unwell, she did not think about the consequences of taking a medicine without first analyzing its origin and components.

"It was an accident. My mother, who also suffers from high blood pressure, saw that I was feeling unwell and gave me the medicine she uses. She had no idea what she was giving me. I couldn't think straight, much less about USADA, I just wanted to feel better. My mother doesn’t even know what USADA is”, concluded the athlete.

Priscila must now await the trial and subsequent punishment or acquittal in the case.
