With each passing day, rumors grow about who his next opponent will be. Jon Jones in the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg.). “The fight that makes sense for Jones right now is Dominick reyes. He's coming off an impressive win over (Chris) Weidman and a lot of people saw that. It generated a lot of audience. It’s the fight to be done”, declared the president.

In fourth place in the light heavyweight rankings, Reyes is now considered the biggest challenge for the current champion. Undefeated in his career, Dominick has been proving with each duel that he can be the man to put 'Bones' reign at risk.

With five appearances for Ultimate, the athlete won at every opportunity. In his last engagement, the fighter defeated the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg), Chris Weidman in his debut in the top division. On that occasion, Dominick delivered a devastating knockout to his rival in less than two minutes of fighting.

Recently, Jon Jones publicly complained about the lack of effective talent in his category. The fighter, who has been beating the biggest names in the division, even considered stepping away from the sport for a period of two years until a name emerges that can compete for his belt.

Another strong candidate to face the champion ended up leaving the queue this weekend. The Brazilian Johnny Walker, beloved of many MMA enthusiasts, ended up being defeated by Corey anderson last Saturday (2) and temporarily said goodbye to a title fight.

Jones last acted in July of this year, when he exchanged forces with Thiago Marreta in the main fight of UFC 239. Against the Brazilian, Jon had his biggest challenge inside the octagon. The fighter needed five rounds before he was declared the winner of the fight in a split decision by the judges.

If Jones' fight against Reyes is confirmed, the meeting should take place in 2020.
