Amanda Ribas appears in the straw rankings after beating Mackenzie Dern

After two fights and two victories in Ultimate, Amanda ribas managed to appear in the elite (15th) of the straw division (up to 52,1kg.). Varginha from Minas Gerais achieved the feat after a convincing victory over the promising Mackenzie dern last Saturday (12), at UFC Tampa. Like the last opponent, Ribas is considered one of the organization's promises and, from now on, begins to aim for fights at the top of the group. The ranking update was made on the official Ultimate website.

The duel between Amanda and Dern was one of the most anticipated of last weekend's event, for some Brazilians. In the presentation, it was a meeting of two athletes who could become true champions of the future, given the young age of the athletes and the almost impeccable record of the fighters.

Ribas entered the octagon to defend a series of two undefeated fights and show that he did not arrive at Ultimate by chance. Before the UFC Tampa, the Minas Gerais company had made its debut for the company in a great victory over emily whitmire by submission in a combat that took place in June.

Mackenzie, in turn, once again put his seven-fight unbeaten record on the line. The North American with Brazilian roots, however, was unable to put her biggest weapons into play. The athlete is known for her excellence in jiu-jitsu, as well as her knockout power with her right hand. Dern had trouble finding the distance so she could get closer to Ribas in the fight.

In addition to gaining access to the top 15, Amanda has now added a series of three consecutive victories. The last time the Varginha fighter felt the taste of defeat was in November 2015, when she was beaten by her compatriot Polyana viana, who, today, also plays for Ultimate and, unlike her former rival, is going through a complicated moment in her career. The Pará native comes from three consecutive defeats in the company.

At 26 years old, Ribas has nine fights and eight wins in his career.
