Rafael Feijão he needed just 33 seconds to submit Mike Kyle, last Saturday (19), at Strikeforce, and avenge the defeat he suffered against the North American in 2009. The triumph also gave the Brazilian the chance to fight for the light heavyweight title of the organization, vacant since the departure of Dan Henderson for the UFC.
Shortly after the fight, Strikeforce president Scott Coker confirmed that Feijão will face the Armenian Gegard Mousasi for the vacant title. However, Mousasi is recovering from knee surgery and is not expected to fight before November 2012.
“I think it was a great revenge victory. The title fight will be between him and Mousasi, but I still don’t know exactly when (the fight) will take place,” said Coker.
