The Brazilian Amanda nunes promised and fulfilled. The fighter became a phenomenon and an absolute reference in mixed martial arts. Owner of two titles in different divisions, and the first woman to achieve this feat, the 'Leoa' exudes confidence to reach her fifth consecutive title defense in December, at least UFC 245. In an interview with 'Estado', the athlete spoke about her hegemony within the company.

“Nobody is going to take my belts away. I believe that I am evolving and learning from my mistakes so that no one can see them in fights or create strategies to beat me. I am policing myself and I repeat that no one will take these titles from me”, said the Bahian.

In her last commitment, Nunes faced the former bantamweight champion (up to 62,7kg.), Holly holm. The fight was a personal request from the Brazilian to the UFC, because, according to Amanda, the North American was the last champion left to defeat. No sooner said than done. The 'Lione' took no notice of Holm and delivered a hard knockout to her opponent in the first round, confirming her superiority and competence as an athlete and champion.

After another victory, Amanda was chosen to face the Dutch Germanie de Randamie, who is coming off a great victory over the promising Aspen ladd, which took place in July this year. The meeting will represent a repeat of a duel that took place in November 2013, in the third edition of UFC Fight of The Troops. On that occasion, the Pojucana came out victorious over Germanie after a brutal knockout in the first round.

If Amanda wins again, the achievement will only boost the Brazilian as a reference in the sport and will further confirm the athlete's claim to being the best fighter in the entire company.

“It has been proven that I am the greatest fighter in the UFC. I'm very happy to be carrying Brazil's name and continue to remain at the top of the organization”, said the fighter.

Even with her confidence high, Nunes admitted that she has not yet prepared specifically for the fight against the Dutchwoman in the UFC 245. Even though she is in training to establish fitness, specific preparation for Germaine has not yet begun.

“I still need to sit down with my coaches (coaches) and make the strategy. Think about everything correctly. But I'm very good, feeling good. The most important thing is that I am happy and happiness brings the tranquility you need to face any problem in life. I’m in great shape for this fight”, said the Bahian.

In addition to being the absolute number one among bantamweights, Nunes also shocked the world by beating the undisputed Chris Cyborg and take the featherweight title (up to 65,7kg.) from her compatriot in December last year. After rumors about a rematch against the Curitiba native, the possibility was ruled out after Cris did not have her contract renewed with Ultimate and moved to Bellator. The fact ruled out the chance for the athletes to meet again, given that the 'Leoa' stated that she will only work professionally for the UFC.

PUBLICITY:

For the Bahian, a new clash against Cyborg will only occur if the former rival returns to the company.

I will face her if she returns to the UFC, because I will always be a UFC fighter. If she comes back I'm sure I'll be open to fighting again.

In December, Amanda, 31, will complete her 22nd career fight. The fighter has 18 wins and four losses. His last setback came in September 2014, more than five years ago.
