The former featherweight and lightweight champion, Conor McGregor appeared, this Friday (11), in Court, in Ireland, to resolve legal disputes regarding the attack he committed on a man in a bar in Ireland. Present at the scene, the session ended up being postponed until November 1st and there has been no verdict, so far. The information was released by 'MMA Fighting'.

If convicted, Conor could be detained for up to six months, have to pay financial compensation of around 1,5 euros (approximately R$6,78) or, in the worst case scenario, both.

In April this year, cameras recorded McGregor arriving at a bar in Dublin, Ireland, and serving shots of his brand of whiskey to several people who were near the counter. However, one man refused the drink. Visibly irritated, Conor, in a cowardly act, punched the man in the face, who did not react. The fighter was immediately removed from the establishment.

Although the case occurred in April, the video was only released to the public in August, causing extreme outrage among many of the athlete's fans. An Irish bar located in the United States even discarded several bottles of the 'Notório' brand in a toilet as a manifestation of outrage at the former champion's act.

After the video took on major proportions and hurt the fighter's image, the athlete went public in an interview with ESPN and apologized a few days after the incident. At the time, the combatant took full blame for the incident.

"I was wrong. That man deserved to enjoy his time in that pub without ending it the way he did. I tried to resolve the situations and made agreements at the time. But it does not matter. I was wrong. I need to come here before you and take responsibility. I owe it to my fans. I owe it to my mother, my father, my family. I owe this to the people who trained me in martial arts. This is not who I am. That's not the reason I started fighting. The reason was to defend myself and others in this type of scenario”, said the Irishman.

Conor, who has been controversial outside the Octagon, hasn't fought since October last year, when he was defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov in a fight valid for the lightweight belt. Recently the athlete has signaled his desire to return to acting, but no challenge has been confirmed so far.
