After beating Gunnar Nelson, Durinho offers to replace injured Eric Spicely at UFC Boston

The Brazilian Gilbert Durinho seems to have found a new way to stay active within Ultimate. After signing a last-minute contract to face Gunnar Nelson, replacing his compatriot Thiago Pitbull, withdrawn from UFC Copenhagen this weekend due to injury, the Niteroi native has now offered to face Brendan allen on the Boston card, which takes place on October 18th. The fight would be held in the middleweight category (up to 83,9kg). Gilbert made the proposal on his official Twitter account.

The athlete's phrase became known through Donald Cerrone. The North American, who has the reputation of always being ready to offer his services to Ultimate, usually makes publications of this kind when the company needs an athlete to replace a co-worker.

The UFC has not yet commented on the possibility of the Brazilian being present on next month's card. If the company accepts, it would be putting Niteroi's resistance to the test. After moving up a category and venturing into the welterweight division (77kg.), Durinho has already held two fights. The first, just over a month ago, against the dangerous Alexey Kunchenko, in the UFC debut in Uruguay.

Last Saturday, when facing Nelson, Durinho showed all his commitment to the organization and managed, even without much time to prepare, to beat Nelson with a unanimous decision from the judges.

In terms of gaining morale with the company, the Brazilian is on the right path. If he is authorized to hold another duel, this will be the fighter's third commitment in two months of work. It is worth remembering that Gilbert had already performed once in 2019. The Niteroi native, in April, traveled to Florida (USA) and beat the owner of the house, Mike Davis. Gilbert has performed six performances from 2018 to date. There were five victories and only one defeat.
