The athlete also commented on the fact that, after a setback, athletes were asked about what was missing in preparation for the commitment. According to Donald, nothing was forgotten. It was just a poorly executed day's work.

“It's really funny, because when you win, everyone asks what you did so special to win. When you lose, they ask what you didn't do. I didn't stop doing anything. I trained a lot. I'm in excellent shape. I could fight five rounds easily. It just didn’t work out,” confirmed Cerrone.

The fighter, who appeared for the interview after the event with his son on his lap, stated that he still intends to fight for the belt once again. Cowboy said his legacy will be of no use if he never won a company belt. However, even if he doesn't succeed, he wants to have the opportunity to just try.

“I’m trying to teach my son something here. Even if I can't win the belt, at least I tried. It's important to know this. I tried”, said Cerrone.

The athlete also commented on his desire to play in December. According to the athlete, he will have to undergo medical suspension and, after that, he will be ready for his next challenge.

“Next week, I’m going to call Dana (White) and ask what my next appointment will be. I know I will have to go through medical suspension. It can be 40 to 60 days. In two months they can fit me into a fight for December”, concluded the 'Cowboy'.

With this weekend's defeat, Donald suffered his second consecutive setback this year. The last time a similar situation happened was in 2017, when the North American was defeated in all three fights he competed in.
