There were no awards for 'Fight of the Night' in the UFC 242, which took place this Saturday (7), in Abu Dhabi. After 13 fights, the board decided to give a bonus of US$50 (around R$190) to four athletes who played in different duels. Among those elected are Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ottman azaitar, muslim salikhov e Belal Muhammad |. They all emerged victorious in their commitments.

The undisputed award of the night was Khabib Nurmagomedov. The athlete, who returned after serving a nine-month suspension as a result of the confusion caused after UFC 229, beat the former interim champion, Dustin poirier, and made his second defense of the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg.).

Poirier, who was considered the underdog in most bookmakers, however, did not sell the defeat cheaply. The American twice put the Russian in situations he had never been in in his entire career. In the second round, Khabib came close to suffering a knockout, after being hit by a sequence of punches and, in the third, he was exposed to a well-placed guillotine that almost caused a tragedy in Abu Dhabi.

The Russian, however, knew how to get around situations and remain calm to get out of the bad moment. When he recovered, the athlete recovered and managed to apply a rear naked choke to Dustin, who, tired, gave up.

In the third fight of the event, on the preliminary card, Russian Muslim Salikov faced Taleb Nordine, known for having worked as Neymar's security guard in France. The fight, which started off busy, came to an end in the first round, when Salikov surprised Taleb with a brutal punch straight to the jaw, which caused the athlete to collapse to the ground without reacting, forcing the referee to end the fight. For his excellent performance, the Russian was awarded and leaves the city with a full pocket.

Another award-winning fighter was the North American Belal Muhammad |. The welterweight (up to 77kg.), who was looking to start a positive sequence of results, managed to beat the Japanese Takashi Sato by knockout in a fight that lasted three rounds. With the triumph, Belal completed his 16th career victory, which includes three defeats; one of them for Brazilian Vincent Luque.

The fourth awarded athlete was Ottman azaitar. The fighter was one of the representatives of the fourth fight of the UFC 242 and also made his debut for the company in one of the most anticipated cards of the year. The athlete did not disappoint and, in a meeting with the Finn, Teemu Packalen, he gave the public a great business card, with a beautiful knockout in the first round. With the triumph, the fighter completed his 12th victory in his career and continued to not know what it's like to be defeated in MMA.
