Masvidal accepts challenge from Nate Diaz and confirms negotiation: 'Let's give the fans what they want'

The North American was invited by his compatriot to share the Octagon at an event in the future; both are famous for their acidic statements and good presentations

the american Jorge masvidal seems to have a new challenge in mind. After having offers to fight for the belt (against Kamaru Usman) and face Conor McGregor denied, the athlete confirmed the negotiation to face the controversial Nate diaz in the near future, who challenged Jorge after his performance last weekend, at UFC 241. The information was released on his recently created 'YouTube' channel.

“We are negotiating (the fight) now. Let's give the fans what they want to watch. Two dogs locked in the octagon aiming for the jugular,” said Masvidal.

The welterweight (up to 77kg.), however, tried to endorse his qualities and race when dealing with his fights. The North American is known for his aggressiveness and consistency in his attacks on his opponents. Masvidal also praised his likely opponent for the fight, who is also known for his high ability to absorb blows and keep moving forward.

“You know I can get hit with a baseball bat and not feel anything. The same thing happens with my rival. You can hit that guy in the knees with a bat and he'll keep walking towards you. It's a fight the fans want and we're going to make it. I'm going to do my best and I know Nate will do the same. Let’s do it”, concluded Jorge.

Currently, the two athletes are 34 years old. Masvidal debuted in the UFC in 2013. Throughout his career, the athlete managed to have a considerable number of fights. In total, the American has already appeared on 46 occasions, winning 33 and losing 13. The fighter is currently in third place in the welterweight rankings. In his last match, Jorge achieved the fastest knockout in history, beating Ben Askren in just five seconds of combat.

Known for being one of the most popular fighters in Ultimate, Nate diaz is coming off a three-year career hiatus. Last weekend, the loudmouth returned to the Octagon and calmly beat the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Anthony Pettis. In total, the North American has 31 clashes, with 20 triumphs and 11 setbacks.
