Brazilian falls under anti-doping test and has UFC debut postponed

The Brazilian debut istela nunes in the UFC is temporarily postponed. The fighter, who was hired by Ultimate in January this year, was caught in a surprise anti-doping test and is preventively suspended. The substance found in the test was not disclosed.

Istela, 27 years old, has an MMA record of six wins and just one loss. She lives in the USA and would make her Octagon debut at UFC Fight NIght Mexico City, on September 21st. But with a failed doping test, the duel was cancelled.

If convicted by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), Istela could be suspended for up to two years from competition.

Dangerous recidivism

The change in the test istela nunes turns on the yellow signal for Brazilian athletes. She is the fifth athlete in the country to take a UFC anti-doping test in the last two months. Before her, Melissa Gatto, Bruno Silva, Antonio Trocoli and Giacomo Lemos also failed their exams.
