The former UFC featherweight (up to 65,7kg) champion, Chris Cyborg, publicly apologized to UFC president, Dana White, after acknowledging the error of having published on his social networks a video containing doctored images of a dialogue between him and the athlete after UFC 240. On his official Instagram account, the fighter apologized to the 'boss', but reaffirmed that she continues to disagree with the 'boss'.

“Hi guys, I know a lot of people saw the video of my confrontation with Dana White after UFC 240, which was posted on my official YouTube channel, Twitter account and Instagram account. I want everyone to know that the video was edited by my production team to make it look like Dana told me, 'I'm not telling the truth.' Dana didn't tell me that, and the captions on the video were incorrect. As you can see in the unedited video, Dana said: 'Listen, whenever you hear me say things, I'm not saying negative things about you”, explained the Curitiba native.
The relationship between the Ultimate leader and the Brazilian has never been the best. An important example was the time spent negotiating so that the athlete could finally put on gloves with UFC prints. An old wish among MMA enthusiasts was to watch a fight between Cyborg and the company's former star, Ronda Rousey, however, the confrontation never took place.
The wear and tear increased even more when White, after Cris's defeat to Amanda nunes, in December last year, began to publicly state that the Curitiba native denied an immediate rematch against the 'Leoa'. Cyborg vehemently denied Dana's claim.
Cris's contract with Ultimate ended at the end of July and, after a brief attempt to negotiate a new commitment, White stated that he would no longer make efforts to keep the athlete in the company.
Even after the confrontations, Cyborg made a point of apologizing to Dana, stating that, even if there are disagreements, he will always maintain his ethics as a person, regardless of personal problems.
“Dana and I have had many disagreements in my UFC career, and I have always been clear about defending myself in situations where my character and statements are misinterpreted and used against me. But I am also proud of being an honest person and a true professional”, wrote the fighter. “I take full responsibility for the actions that resulted in the edited video that was posted on my social media. We were wrong, and I have addressed this matter with my team so that this does not happen again in the future. Lastly, I would like to apologize to Dana White for posting the video. We continue to disagree on many points, but I will always defend what is right”, concluded Cyborg.
Outside of the UFC, Cyborg is currently studying proposals about the new company in which he will fight. One of the athlete's possible destinations is Bellator.
