Xande Macaco knocks out Rodrigão and takes the Coliseu belt

Last weekend, the third edition of the Coliseum Extreme Fight, in Arapiraca (Alagoas). The event featured nine amateur fights and nine professional fights.

Highlights for the clashes between the cities: Arapiraca x Palmeira dos Índios. With Paullemir da Silva (Ricardo Feitosa/AL) against Pedro Wilson (Kimura/AL) and the fight for the belt in the 84kg category between Alexandre Macaco x Rodrigão Gonçalves. A highly anticipated fight as it did not happen in September 2011, at the Coliseu Extreme Fight I, where Macaco reached the GP final and Rodrigão, after passing André Lobato, was prevented by doctors from fighting in the final.

Paullemir da Silva vs. Peter Wilson
The fight between Paullemir da Silva and Pedro Wilson started off quite fiercely and the rivalry between the cities was reflected inside the octagon, sending the audience at Ginásio João Paulo II into a frenzy. And the duel was disputed throughout the first round. In the second round, Paullemir managed a good sequence, where Pedro Wilson was saved by the bell.

For the last round, both were visibly tired and even so, Pedro Wilson managed to take down more and dominated most of the fight on the ground, leaving the final result in the hands of the referee, who gave victory to the athlete from Palmeira dos Índios, Peter Wilson.

Alexandre Macaco vs. Rodrigão Goncalves
It was already more than 1 am on Saturday morning and despite the time, the gym was still full waiting for the fight between Rodrigão Gonçalves, from Rio de Janeiro and Alagoas, against Alexandre Macaco, from Ceará.

After a lot of study at the beginning of the fight, Rodrigão, being practically fighting at home, felt more comfortable and attacked more. Macaco, on the other hand, was on the counterattack and avoiding takedowns, as his opponent's specialty was fighting on the ground. Still in the first round, Xande Macaco managed to land a knee, leading Rodrigão to a knockout.

The owner of the world belt was once and for all defined. Coliseum Extreme Fight in the category up to 84kg.
