Corey Anderson challenges and Johnny Walker accepts: 'Let's have fun'

On social media, light heavyweights make a verbal agreement for a duel on November 2, at UFC 244, in New York

The North American light heavyweight (up to 93kg.), Corey anderson launched a challenge to the Brazilian Johnny Walker for a duel for UFC 244, which will be held on November 2nd, in New York (USA). Famous for not rejecting fights, the Brazilian readily accepted and made himself available for the fight to be scheduled. The exchange of messages took place on the athletes' official Twitter accounts.

“I wanted to dethrone the king (John Jones), but they want me to derail a train (Walker). He (Johnny) thinks he's ready to fight with the division's elite. It's time to roll out the red carpet. Do you want fun? Meet me in the land of opportunity (New York) on November 2nd”, published the American.

Johnny Walker, in turn, made his possible rival happy by responding positively to the challenge.

“Let’s dance together and have fun. Light heavyweights need a new king,” wrote the Brazilian.

Johnny has become something of a favorite among MMA fans around the world. The athlete, who has appeared on just three occasions for the UFC, has become known for his aggressiveness, and, adding up the time he has spent in the octagon since his UFC debut, he doesn't even count for three minutes.

Today, in eighth place in the category, Anderson comes from three consecutive victories. One of them, about the Brazilian Glover Teixeira, former division title challenger. In his last commitment, Corey faced Ilir Lafifi and won by unanimous decision from the judges, in December last year.

The Brazilian, however, comes from nine consecutive victories. In his last performance, Johnny impressed the audience by surprising Misha Cirkunov with a flying knee in just 38 seconds, resulting in the opponent's knockout and sending spectators into a frenzy.

In recent interviews, Walker has declared his desire to face the legendary Jon Jones but nevertheless agrees that he needs to win more fights until he is given the opportunity. Currently, the athlete occupies 12th position in the ranking of his category.
