Ricardo was one of the athletes responsible for closing the preliminary card of the event. Focused on victory to climb back up in the bantamweight category (up to 61,2kg), the athlete performed well according to the plan drawn up by his team. His opponent, Newson, was called up at the last minute for the fight and ended up giving the athlete from Campinas a very balanced duel.

With the victory, Ricardo achieved his fourth triumph since debuting in the UFC. At the end of the fight, the athlete dedicated his victory to a friend who is facing cancer, providing an emotional moment inside the octagon.

The fight

Carcacinha started the fight by trying a front kick aiming for Journey's waistline. The athletes continued to abuse body kicks, but they still hadn't found the distance. Newson threw a round kick, well absorbed by Carcacinha. In the center of the octagon, the fighters studied each other and tried to find an opening to land the best blow. With just under two minutes left in the stage, Newson attempted a takedown, but the Brazilian was attentive and managed to fall holding his opponent's back. The American, however, managed to reverse the situation and almost grabbed Ricardo's neck, who also defended himself well. Standing, the athletes tried a few more attacks, but there was no more time.

In the second round, Ricardo seemed to slow down a little. The athlete closely observed Journey's movements, who tried to hit the Brazilian with punches and kicks, all of which were well absorbed by the athlete from Campinas. After two minutes of fighting, Ricardo tried a flying knee, which didn't land, but opened a wound on the American's lip. Approaching the end of the round, Ricardo started to become more aggressive, but Newson showed danger against us with attacks. Whenever Carcacinha threw a punch, Journey responded with a dangerous punch. The athletes finished the stage standing and kicking until the horn sounded.

As in the first two rounds, the fighters continued attacking each other until, at one point, Ricardo attempted a takedown, but Journey went to the ground, connecting the Brazilian with a guillotine choke. A jiu-jitsu black belt, Ricardo managed to escape the position and get up. In another attack, Carcacinha managed to get a new takedown on his opponent and began to strike Newson. The North American managed to get up and the duel was once again fought standing up. With a minute left to go, Ricardo managed to land a spinning elbow, which rocked his opponent.

The fighter from Varginha, in the interior of Minas Gerais, during the week preceding the fight, stated her desire to work in her comfort zone, which is jiu-jitsu. As soon as the horn sounded announcing the start of the duel, the Minas Gerais native attacked the North American, who tried to defend herself as best she could from Ribas' attacks.

After the end, Amanda achieved her seventh career victory in eight appearances and officially put herself on the featherweight map. Emily, in turn, suffered her second setback within Ultimate.

Ribas went through a delicate moment in her career when she was suspended for two years following a doping accusation. After serving her sentence, the Minas Gerais native had her innocence proven and was able to continue her career.

 The fight

The two fighters started the duel with a lot of contact. Right from the start, Amanda showed that she would seek the submission and tried to take her opponent to the bars trying to take the fight to the ground. Ribas managed to get to Emily's back and almost managed a rear naked choke. The North American, however, showed courage and managed to withstand Amanda's attack. As the minutes passed, the Brazilian showed greater superiority. In the end, Ribas ended up losing position and was on bottom, but there was no time for Whitmire to recover.

In the second stage, Amanda continued to put pressure on the American and soon managed to take down Emily. On the ground, Ribas managed to connect good blows until finding the space for the desired submission. Whitmire had no option but to forfeit.

In a moment of distraction, Mamute suffers second knockout in the UFC

Brazilian Vinicius Mamute still hasn't managed to win since making his Ultimate debut. This Saturday, the athlete started the clash against the North American well Erik Anders for the light heavyweights (up to 93kg.), but ended up being surprised by a left hook to the chin and was knocked out just over a minute into the contest. This was the Brasiliense's second setback within the organization.

Vinicius started the fight looking for Anders' legs, who defended well and almost complicated the Brazilian's situation by falling on top. Mamute continued trying to catch Anders' left leg, but ended up getting distracted and was surprised by a direct blow to the chin, which shook Vinicius, who fell knocked out on the ground, forcing the referee to interrupt the duel.

Albini loses fourth in a row and finds himself in a delicate situation in the UFC

Heavyweight Junior Albini really failed to show his potential in Ultimate. With a great debut in 2017, the athlete was unable to repeat his good performance and suffered the fourth defeat in a row for the organization. In an eventful duel against the North American Maurice Greene, 'Baby' showed a good moment in the fight, but succumbed to the strength of his opponent. With the new setback, the man from Paraná may have said goodbye to the company this Saturday.

The two athletes started the fight by abusing kicks to the body. Right from the start, Maurice managed to land two good straight shots on the Brazilian's face, which shook him. Junior managed to recover and continued going in front of his opponent. The fight remained dangerous with both landing good blows seeking the knockout. With a greater reach, Greene was able to find the Paraná native's head more easily. After almost three minutes of fighting, the American managed to land a good punch on Albini, who fell to the ground. Junior managed to recover and threw a counterattack at Maurice, who felt it. Junior, however, was again surprised by a direct hit and fell semi-knocked out. Maurice only had to land a few more blows for the judge to declare the fight over.
