FJJE extends deadline for State registrations

The Rio de Janeiro Sports Jiu-Jitsu Federation (FJJE-Rio), due to this Thursday's holiday, has extended its registration deadline for the 2008 State Championship until May 26th (Monday). Furthermore, the entity's president, Rogério Gavazza, comments on some more news for the athletes.

“The State Championship is worth a place for the top four to compete in the Brazilian Confederation CBJJE World Championship. So, in a partnership between the two entities, we will be able to offer a discount on registrations for these classifieds. Furthermore, those classified will receive a 'pet' from FJJE-Rio, so that everyone knows that this is a representative of Rio. I call on all federations to do the same, so there will be a great crowd, exploring a healthy rivalry between the delegations . Instead of just supporting the gyms, the public will be able to support representatives from each part of the country”, explained Gavazza, who intends to take many athletes from Rio de Janeiro to the event, which takes place in July, in São Paulo. He remembers that, despite using FJJE-Rio pets, the fighters will represent their teams normally.

As for registrations for Rio State, the entity will be on duty during the holiday to accommodate all interested parties, as demand is very high.
