Jones and Rashad's fights were always public. If in 2011 Rashad was considering changing categories before facing his “brother” Jones; in 2012 they were already exchanging insults at press conferences and accusing each other, among other things, of envy and falsehood.

Rashad, who has an MMA record of 17 wins and just one loss, always stated that he knew how to defeat Jones, after all, he had followed most of his training.
