On his official Instagram account, the athlete published an image of himself in a hospital bed after undergoing surgery. The athlete thanked doctors and fans for their support.

“Guys, it's the 'Triple Champion' (Olympic, flyweight and bantamweight champion) here with the latest news today. I will be away for the next few months. In my last fight, I injured my shoulder at the end of the first round. In all my years of competing, I have never had an injury that required surgery. So this is new to me. Thanks for the support. I’ll be back quicker than you think,” wrote the athlete.

The incident puts a pause on the fighter's career, who, after becoming yet another holder of two titles in different categories of Ultimate, launched several challenges to fighters in order to continue building his legacy in the history of MMA.

Cejudo recently declared his desire to challenge former bantamweight champions like Dominick Cruz e Colby covington. According to the fighter, his motivation is to defeat legends of the sport and become, in fact, the greatest pound for pound in the world, a position currently held by Daniel Cormier, who was the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) and, today, holds the heavyweight belt (up to 120kg).

Henry's last move, who is also notable for having been Olympic champion representing the United States in Beijing (China) in 2008, was a manifestation of his desire to move up again and face his compatriot Frankie Edgar for the lightweight title (up to 65,7kg.). This situation can happen if Edgar defeats Max Holloway in the division's title fight, at UFC 240, on July 27.

Henry moved from professional wrestling to MMA in 2013. Since then, the fighter has perfected his skills and gained more and more respect in the world of mixed martial arts. At 32 years old, the athlete has already played 15 times and was defeated on only two occasions. One, in 2016, Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight title, which was avenged in 2018; and another also in 2016, for Joseph Benavidez.
