The knockout suffered by José Aldo It's already a new page Renato Moicano. To recover his good form in the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg), the fighter plans a great performance against Chan sung jung, or 'Korean zombie', in a duel that takes place this Saturday (22), at UFC Greenville. The information was given in a recent interview with 'Combate'. The Brazilian currently occupies fifth place in the category ranking.

Despite recognizing that his opponent is far from the level of his last opponent, the Brazilian believes that a good victory could once again boost his featherweight career. For Moicano, Chan's past within the UFC could help him dream of a title shot in the future.

“He’s a tough guy. He's a guy who isn't ranked as highly because he hasn't fought as much in the last three years, but he's a tough guy. I always ask the UFC to fight with the best, and I think it will give my name a great reputation,” said the athlete.

The highlight of the South Korean's career came in 2013, when Sung qualified to face José Aldo, at the time dominant in the division, for the belt. However, at the time, there were no surprises in the result. The 'People's Champion' scored a knockout in the fourth round of the fight and retained his title.

For Renato, facing a former challenger for the category belt is, however, promoting the possibility of returning to the top of the category. Furthermore, the Brazilian confirmed that his defeat to Aldo served as a learning experience for life as an athlete, making him return stronger for the future.

“This fight (against Aldo) taught me that we got in there, we have to go to the end without thinking. You have to execute the movement, you can't get involved. This is the word. We have to be focused, we have to always respect the opponent, but we cannot get involved in the fight. And I think that’s what I learned”, confessed the fighter.

Moicano debuted for the UFC in 2014. Since then, the athlete has played for the organization on seven occasions, winning five and losing on two. The Brasilia native has already won a 'Performance of the Night' award in 2018, when he defeated the North American Cub swanson by submission in the first round, at UFC 227, in the United States. In his professional record, Renato, 30 years old, has a total of 16 fights, with 13 wins, one loss and one draw.

His opponent, aged 32, has already appeared on 19 occasions, with 14 triumphs and five setbacks.
