Viviane Pereira, from Ceará, known as Sucuri, has built a respected record in MMA. Fighting in Brazil and beating names like Duda Yankovich and Poliana Botelho, she went on an 11-fight winning streak and was signed by the UFC. Sucuri arrived winning the first two fights, but lost the next two and was fired. It didn't take long for the fighter to be signed by Invicta FC, an exclusive event for women that has a partnership with the UFC. This Friday, June 7th, she will have her second fight in the organization. Sucuri will face American Alesha Zappitella, who is undefeated in MMA after five fights.

“Alesha is a great opponent, but I tried to work on my game and not focus on her game. I want, as always, to impose my game and show that I am evolving. I think every fighter goes through a bad time. And I blame myself for this moment. Nobody should blame the coach. In fact, he also doesn't understand, because he does everything and a little more. But the fighter is the one who climbs into the cage. And he needs to have a good head”, explained Sucuri.

In her first fight outside the UFC in November last year, she debuted with a defeat at Invicta FC, being beaten by the Japanese Mizuki Inoue in the judges' decision. But Sucuri has already left the frustration behind and is looking ahead.

“I want to get the belt in this category, that's why I asked for a challenge in the under-52kg category. And of course returning to the UFC. In fact, to this day I still don't understand why I left. I won two and lost two, but I was never submitted or knocked out. I always take my fights to the end. Furthermore, I always faced well-ranked opponents. I made my UFC debut with less than a month of training against the ninth best in the rankings and came out with the victory. And I still had a fractured hand. Anyway, it's difficult to understand. But my focus is on Friday's fight. My expectation is to come away with victory”, he concluded.
