North American Page VanZant has not had any luck in her attempts to return to work for the UFC. The flyweight (up to 56,7kg) will have to undergo a third surgery on the same arm. The information was confirmed in a recent interview with 'ESPN' and also published on its official Instagram account. The athlete entered the Octagon for the last time in January of this year.

“I've actually spent the last month preparing myself physically by doing strength and conditioning. I wanted to be on the July 20th card in Texas, but my chiropractor wanted me to get an exam before accepting a fight. I went to a surgeon, who confirmed: 'Yes, you 100% need surgery'”, said the athlete.
The fighter only has one more fight left in her current contract with the UFC and hopes to return to action by the end of the year so that, if she wins, she can win her second successive triumph and, who knows, get an extension of her commitment to the company. .
“I want to go on and win my second victory in a row and be able to say: 'I'm a good fighter. I want you to see this'”, said the American, who also said she has a lot to show within the organization. “I don’t just want this for the fans, but also for the UFC. They can easily find a new star, and I want to remind them that I am a star too. I have one more fight, I’m going to have my surgery, fight and end this”, concluded Paige.
VanZant debuted in Ultimate in November 2014, when she defeated compatriot Kailin Curran by knockout in the third round. Since then, the fighter has entered the Octagon on seven more occasions, winning four and being defeated three times. Currently, the 25-year-old North American is in 14th place in the flyweight division, the champion of which is Valentina Shevchenko.
