Jacaré is at a delicate moment in his career. After being defeated by an athlete, until then outside the top 10 of the division, in UFC Fort Lauderdale, in April, the Brazilian walked away from his long-awaited chance to compete for the category belt. Recently, Espírito Santo asked Ultimate to hold a rematch against Kelvin Gastelum, against whom he fought in 2018, and lost in a controversial decision by the judges.

In addition to the challenge to Jacaré, Heinisch also commented on Antônio's recent criticism of his performance against the Brazilian. In this ocasion, 'Shoe Face' claimed to have been the victim of an illegal headbutt, in addition to accusing his opponent of having held onto the fence on two occasions, which was ignored by the fight's referee, Todd Anderson.

“He (Antônio) was mentally broken. We accidentally butted heads and he wanted the referee to stop the fight. The referee didn’t see anything”, asked the American. “He can complain whatever he wants, but the fact is that his head had already gone into space. He can believe what he wants, but I had a goal and it wasn't a headbutt that would stop me from achieving it. If he has mental issues, that’s his problem”, concluded the athlete.
