Dudu Dantas submits Zach Makovsky and wins Bellator belt

Brazil has another champion on the world MMA scene. The bantamweight Dudu Dantas submitted Zach Makovsky with a triangle choke, this Friday (13), and won the Bellator belt. The fight was one of the highlights of the 65th edition of the event, held in the city of Atlanta, in the United States.

The Brazilian started the fight better and, with greater reach, controlled the distance to land several kicks on his opponent. Dudu was taken down on two occasions, but managed to show his good guard and forced Makovsky to start back on his feet.

In the second round, Zach again looked for a takedown, but Dudu didn't give his opponent a chance. As soon as he reached the ground, the Brazilian swept and took his back and reached mount. Sovereign, Dantas secured the choke and forced Makovsky to give up the fight.

With the triumph, Dudu, who was the third Brazilian to win the Bellator tournament, became the first to win the organization's belt.

In addition to Dudu winning the belt, Bellator 65 also featured two other Brazilians in action. In the first phase of the bantamweight GP, Marcos Loro defeated Ed West in the judges' decision, while Luis Betão beat Alexis Vila, also in the decision.
