Manager confirms record intention for UFC 147: “We expect 65 thousand people”

After confirming its edition in Rio de Janeiro, for June 23rd, UFC 147 has everything to be the one with the biggest audience in the history of Ultimate. Direct from Stockholm, Sweden, the UFC's director of international relations, Marshall Zelaznik, confirmed the organization's record expectations.

“We expect an audience of 65 thousand spectators at Engenhão. There will be more than 60 thousand for sure”, stated the leader.

“We know Brazil's passion for MMA and we always hope that the events there are a success with the public. But still, we are always surprised by the result. It’s always even bigger than expected,” added Marshall.

The current Ultimate attendance record is 55 people at UFC 129, at Rogers Centre, in Toronto, Canada. The event took place on April 30 last year and its main fight was between Canadian Georges St-Pierre and American Jake Shields. St-Pierre won by decision of the judges.
