Sarafian confirms Forte’s injury and says: “When he felt it, it gave me more confidence”

the paulista Daniel sarafian managed to impose his game against Reneé Forte and won the fight by submission in the second episode of The Ultimate Fighter Brasil, a program that aired last Sunday (8). At the end of the duel, the Ceará native explained the setback due to an injury suffered to his foot during the fight. And this Wednesday, Sarafian confirmed that Reneé suffered a foot problem. In fact, this would have been one of the keys to victory.

“When I started connecting punches, jabs, I became more comfortable. But there was a moment when Reneé threw a kick, I blocked it with my knee and I saw in his eye that he felt it. I was already feeling good about the fight, but that moment gave me more confidence to continue growing,” said Sarafian to the official UFC website.

Despite the victory by submission, Daniel stated that the strategy was to keep the fight standing and seek the takedown only safely.

“The strategy was to exchange standing, but if I saw the opportunity to take down, I would take it down. I had to pay close attention to his kicks. I felt calm about the falls, but I didn’t have that as my main tactic, it was like my plan B”, he added.

With the triumph, Daniel sarafian, who is part of the Vitor belfort, is the first guaranteed middleweight in the TUF Brazil semifinals.
