In a teleconference press conference, Vitor spoke about the fight against Uriah Hall in January of this year that it was postponed and the chance to end his career in his country. He still doesn't know what his future will be, but to continue fighting he wants better pay. “That’s what happened, so it’s for the best,” said “The Phenom” about the fight with Uriah Hall.

Belfort highlighted the respect he has for his opponent, but stated that he will focus on Machida's weak point. “It's great to return home, I'm happy to fight in the place where my dream began. Our camp is prepared and now it’s just a matter of stabilizing and adjusting everything. There isn't much friendship in there, both of them wanting to win. The desire is on both sides. I'm going to aim for his chin. There is nothing warm with Vitor belfort, it’s hot or cold (talking about the fight with Lyoto)”, he declared.
