“We have very good expectations for this card. Unfortunately, not all events are able to put belts up for grabs, but with the increase in the number of categories recently imposed by Shooto, this has become more viable. This edition we managed to combine two great title fights, in addition to the presence of renowned names in national and even global MMA such as Hernani, Olivieri and Pedro Nobre. I'm sure everyone will see a great show”, said Dedé Pederneiras, president of Shooto Brasil.

Two titles at stake and presence of Shooto world champion

Protagonist of the main fight of the night, Valmir Bidu had a recent stint in the UFC. At 32 years old, the Bahian from Salvador has a record of 17 wins and six losses. A boxing specialist, he had three fights in Ultimate in 2014/2015 and ended up being fired after two defeats and one victory. After that, he had two consecutive victories in Shooto, and in 2017 he had four fights, three of which were in Russia. On the other side of the cage he will find an opponent without so much flair. With a record of ten wins and two losses built in national MMA, Fabrício Negão makes his debut in Shooto. He is from Piauí and has won six of his last seven fights.

In the co-main event another title fight. On one side, Gaucho Leonardo Limberger, pupil of the legendary Pedro Rizzo and who carries with him a great story of faith and determination. At 23 years old, Leonardo has an almost perfect record, with ten victories and just one setback. There are seven consecutive victories, three of them in Shooto. His opponent is Adonilton Matos, a 30-year-old from Bahia. With a record of 12 wins and four losses, he also makes his debut at Shooto Brasil. Adonilton also comes from four consecutive victories.

Other highlights of Shooto Brasil are well-known names on the national and international scene. With stints in the UFC, teammates Hernani Perpetuo and Felipe Olivieri face Patrique Tavares and Christian Dipp, respectively. While Perpetuo, who holds the Shooto world title, is looking to establish himself as he has only fought twice since leaving Ultimate four years ago, Olivieri is also looking to revive his career after being caught doping while he was still a UFC athlete. Another prominent name on the card is Pedro Nobre, from the legendary BTT, who faces Junior Orelha.
