Shooto Brasil crowned two new champions this weekend. The 81st edition of the show was marked by great duels and the culmination of the event for Glyan Alves and Lara Procópio. In the main fight of the night, Glyan beat Pedro Falcao by technical knockout after an injury to the Rondônia native's shoulder forced the referee to end the duel and became the first super-bantamweight champion (up to 63,5 kg.). In the second most important fight, Lara beatMariana morais unanimously and won the women's bantamweight title (up to 61kg).
The main fight of the night between Pedro Falcao and Glyan Alves didn't end the way everyone expected. After a balanced start, Pedro suffered an injury to his right shoulder after a fall that forced the referee to stop the fight and created an anti-climax in the Upper Arena. Despite the unexpected ending, Glyan Alves was crowned the first Shooto Brasil super bantamweight champion with a technical knockout victory.
With the bantamweight title on the line, the night's co-main event between Mariana morais and Lara Procópio started off electrifying. After almost submitting Morais with a tight armbar a few seconds into the fight, Lara dominated the entire first round with a very sharp ground game. In the next two rounds, balance prevailed and the two had good moments, always on the ground. In the end, the initial dominance prevailed and Lara Procópio became the new Shooto Brasil bantamweight champion.
