Both highly experienced fighters, Renato Moicano and Brian Ortega 's paths crossed for the first time in July 2017, when both were still prospects in the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg). At the time undefeated, the Brazilian was eventually submitted with a guillotine choke in the third round, in the midst of a very balanced fight.

Since then, both have become contenders for Ultimate titles. Currently, the Brazilian representative occupies the tenth position in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3 kg), while his opponent is making his debut in the category.

Johnny Walker opens up about his heavyweight debut at UFC 332.
