It's not just Ian Machado Garry who is unhappy with his performance in the main event of UFC 330. The company's president, Dana White, gave the Irishman a serious dressing-down, who tried his luck against Islam Makhachev , the welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg), this Saturday (15), in Philadelphia (USA), but lost by unanimous decision.
In the post- UFC 330 press conference , the UFC president criticized the challenger's performance, stating that after a worrying start, he "woke up" and injured Makhachev. Dana White, in his assessment, didn't lack fight IQ, but he made a serious mistake that prevented him from shocking the world.

It's true that, after his defeat to the Russian, the Irishman appeared confident and guaranteed he would bounce back in the UFC. However, the company president is advising Machado Garry to urgently address an internal problem in order to, perhaps one day, become champion.
“I felt that the night was ripe for an upset. I thought an upset could happen with so much at stake, all the records Makhachev has and the possibility of breaking Anderson's record. I thought a surprise could happen. There are weight classes for a reason, and Garry is a big, strong guy with a long reach and great takedown defense,” said the official.
“His takedown defense against Makhachev was impressive. I think Garry is a talented guy. If he had an ounce of killer instinct in the fifth round, he would have gone for the body. Makhachev’s entire right side was messed up, his face was all bruised. You don’t go there to hug and shake hands. That shit drives me crazy! When there’s so much at stake and also so much mind game…”
“You go in to throw a flying knee or some crazy strike, you try to win the fight. I think this is one of those fights that Garry will look back on and think, 'Wow, I wish I could do that again.' If he had gone all out, won the last round, shown everything he had, I think it would have been a completely different fight,” he concluded.
