At the event held this Saturday (15), in Philadelphia (USA), the 40-year-old Brazilian had serious difficulties against Esteban Ribovics and was knocked out in the second round . Immediately after the defeat, Edson was cheered by the crowd at the 'Xfinity Mobile Arena' and received affection from his family and team. In tears, the Brazilian made a point of expressing his gratitude to the UFC and the fans who had supported him throughout his journey with the company, which began in 2010. The veteran's farewell was so emotional that Joe Rogan and Ribovics also showed their respect and praised him.

“I just want to say thank you. I give my best every day, guys. In every fight, I promise to give my best. I really did give my best. So, thank you very much, guys. I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you. Thank you very much. Nothing to say. Just thank you,” he said.
